The crime branch officials on Sunday nabbed three people allegedly involved in several incidents of loot, murder, abduction and theft. The arrested persons have been identified as Nirmal Sinh Jadeja, Ghanshyam Dayal Das Sindhi and Ramesh Amrut Lal Patel.

Incidentally, according to crime branch sources, Jadeja is the person who had escaped from police custody by hoodwinking two constables while he was being taken from Rajkot to Mahesana on February 17.

Reports said constables Pursottam Prajapati and Dilip Valand were returning to Mehsana from Rajkot along with Jadeja, a criminal charged with involvement in several cases of loot, murder and riot. They alighted from a state transport bus at Paldi stop in night and took a rickshaw to Honest restaurant for dinner. Jadeja gave cops the slip and managed to escape in a scooter.

Later, a depressed Valand committed suicide by jumping into Sabarmati river. Police sources said Patel and Sindhi had helped Jadeja in escaping from police custody.

After escaping from police custody, Jadeja went to his wife who lives at Vasna and stayed there for two days. Later, he went to his relative’s house at Sanand and stayed for two days. From there, he went to Bhavnagar and later took his wife there too.

Crime branch sources said Patel, who was convicted in the murder of Dipak Langda, had jumped parole, while Sindhi had been evading arrest after being a suspect in the murder of his girlfriend.

The sources further said that Jadeja, Patel and Sindhi had gone to Godasar to collect money from a person they had sold liquor to.

The crime branch have handed all the three to Ellisbridge police station for further interrogation.
