350 children admitted to hospital after consuming ice-cream

Over 350 children were taken ill and admitted to hospital after they consumed ice-cream sold by roadside vendors at Mirajgaon, about 37 kms from here.

The children, all below 12 years of age, were admitted to the Primary Health Care Centre and a hospital at Mirajgaon late on Tuesday night following complaints of vomiting and loose motion, hospital sources said.

Their condition is reported to be stable, the sources added.

After the incident, villagers have demanded strict action against vendors operating without licenses.
