The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to withdraw the letter of award (LoA) issued to Nagarjuna Construction Co (NCC), for a Rs 1,000 crore project.

Earlier, a consortium of companies led by NCC was given a contract under the public-private partnership model to develop an international centre in Delhi on 19.84 acres land belonging to the state government.

The state has its official building — AP Bhavan — in that property and the government was keen on developing the land further with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore.

On reconstruction, the property was to house an international convention centre, guesthouses, a five-star hotel, clubhouse, residential quarters, dormitory facilities and serviced apartments.
The complex would have built-up space for use by the AP government such as suites for the governor and the chief minister, 310 rooms for private guests, 170 rooms for government guests, an auditorium and separate halls for conferences, functions and banquets.
