Recently you came to the rescue of some female passengers at the New Delhi airport. Tell us something about the incident.
It was an ugly experience for sure and luckily media people were there who were supportive too. Some CISF jawans at the security check were misbehaving with women. They were very rude and even demeaning. They were making me go through security check again and again. My ipod, shadow kit, my blackberry were all damaged. There was an old lady, who was travelling alone, was getting shoved around. But to my horror no man was coming ahead to protest this. I took it as my responsibility to voice my opinion and then all the jawans said was ‘Sorry’ and added that they cannot take responsibility for the loss that they caused me. It was ridiculous.
Sex siren has quite become your tag. Are you looking to drift away from it?
I’m not looking to leave the tag I have. It will always remain a part of me. That’s a brand that I have built. But you know I’m a big Sridevi fan. She used to do all kinds of roles and carry off all kinds of looks. I want to do all that by taking her as my inspiration.
So many people from the film fraternity already have a website. Is that the reason why you decided to launch your portal mycelinajaitley.com?
I have been in the industry for more that five years and I’m extremely net savvy. I have noticed that there are thousands of websites that have my pictures and information. 90 percent of those sites have incorrect information about me and I don’t like it. Then there are pirated pictures too on them. I realised that most of my fans do not know the real me. People should see and know what Celina is. I’m involved in social activism too and very few people know about that. I wanted to have a one-on-one interaction with my fans. The new website will give me just that. It will have my blog and I play a love guru on the site. It will have my exclusive pics and on the set details as well as pictures from the places I travel to.
But with so many projects up your sleeve (she is doing over five films), how frequent will you be on the virtual world?
I’m 24x7 on my blackberry and I love staying connected. My vanity van too has internet connection. So, updating the site with all the things that is happening with me and around me is not a problem at all.
