Tainted Pakistani speedster Muhammad Asif has been cleared of charges of carrying insufficient traveling documents, The News reports.
Asif, who was detained by the immigration officials here for not carrying proper traveling documents, was released from custody of the immigration officials, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said.
However, another PCB source denied that Asif was detained for not carrying proper traveling documents, he said that he (Asif) was held for routine interrogation after which he received clearance.
Asif was scheduled to meet the Delhi Daredevils, the team he represents in the Indian Premier League (IPL), management to sought out his financial problems.
