Imran returns prestigious Pak award

Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has returned the country’s most prestigious civil award, the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, to protest president Zardari]s decision of conferring the same award on two high ranking US officials — Joseph Biden and Richard Boucher.

While making public his decision on Friday, Imran Khan said it was a matter of grave concern for the people of Pakistan that the PPP government was giving the prestigious national award to those American officials who have been responsible for drone attacks in the Wazristan area of Pakistan that have killed hundreds of innocent civilians.
