RANCHI: Indian cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is enrolled as a graduation student for a Bachelor's in Commerce (B.Com) at a college here, could not sit for his first semester exam, but the college said it would make special arrangements for him to take it later.

The first semester examination of the St Xavier college started on Monday and Dhoni, despite being in Ranchi, skipped it. According to sources close to his family, the cricketer was not prepared to take the exam due to his busy sporting schedule. He has just finished playing the One Day series against England.

In view of his hectic cricketing schedule, the St Xavier college management has decided to make special arrangements for him and will hand over books and course material to his family members.

"We are planning to give special assignments to Dhoni so that he can prepare himself managing time from his busy schedule. A special examination will be conducted for him," Father Nicoloas Tete, principal of St Xavier college said here.

According to college authorities, Dhoni has not attended any classes after he took admission in the college as he was busy playing matches for India.

Sources in the college management said that Dhoni may even be allowed to take the exam online like in distance education courses.

Dhoni arrived in Ranchi on Friday after the last two One Day matches against England were cancelled in light of the terror attacks in Mumbai. He was here for four days and left for Kolkata on Monday evening.
