Get sunburnt again

Here’s what you can expect at the second installment of the Sunburn Festival on the beaches of Goa

After a successful stint last year, the Sunburn Festival is back with a great line up of artistes this year. The three-day electronic dance music festival with over 35 artists is Asia’s biggest music festival. Starting December 27, it is expected to draw even larger crowds this year.

The headliners include hard hitter Eddie Halliwell, psy-trance gurus GMS, John ‘00’ Fleming and the Digital Blondes, DJ Shah, Richard Durand, Tatva Kundalini, Order of Essence, Shapeshifters, Copyright, Midival Punditz, Roger Shah, Jalebee Cartel, Shiva Sound System, Norman Doray, ATFC. And while 2007 saw Above and Beyond bring in their Anjuna Beats roster, for 2008 Defected will bring in their crew and host their own stage. 

The others include the usual suspect Pearl, Tuhin, Jalebee Cartel, Sanjay Dutta, Nawed Khan, Vachan Chinappa, Ma Faiza, Swen Weber, Simon Dumore, DJ Ajit, Karan Third Eye, Kris Correya and others, who will share the stage with the international artists. To see the international heavy weights and Indian talent on the same platform is perhaps the biggest highlight of the festival. 

While there are loads of new acts this year, the setting is the same – the Condolim beach. And just like last year there will be multiple stages representing various dance music genres for the span of three days. Guess, it’s time to soak the sun even as you dance to some of the best electronic music!
