NEW DELHI: Utsav Bhasin, a Haryana industrialists' teenaged son accused of killing a motorcyclist with his BMW car, has refused to undergo test identification parade (TIP) in a court here saying his photos used in the media have already revealed his identity.

Bhasin, who was earlier sent to judicial custody for 13 days, appeared before Metropolitan Magistrate N K Malhotra and refused to give his assent to Delhi Police's move seeking his identification by sole survivor of the accident, Mrigank
Srivastava.

"Almost every newspaper and news channels carried Bhasin's photographs and live pictures and this TIP would be endered invalid as the victim had already got an opportunity to see Bhasin's face before the TIP proceedings," defence counsel said.

The high-profile accused surrendered before the police on September 27 after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him anticipatory bail saying he had run away from the spot and not taken the victims to the hospital after the incident.

Earlier, a sessions court had also dismissed Bhasin's plea seeking pre-arrest bail in the case.

Bhasin, 19, was allegedly at the wheels when his BMW car hit two men on a motorcycle around 2.30 am on September 11 near Moolchand flyover in South Delhi here.

Victim Anuj Singh, a BPO employee, died a day after the incident. While another victim Mrigank Srivastava survived.

Bhasin, who was earlier granted bail at Lajpat Nagar Police station, was facing re-arrest after the police invoked stringent penal provision of Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC, which prescribes life imprisonment as the maximum sentence.
