Kareena is on a ‘high’ literally. Right now she is shooting in the mountainous Ladakh for Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan. “I’ve always liked Aamir Khan. I’ve watched Qayamat Se Qayamat at least 100 times. I’ve watched Taare Zameen Par five times till now. Working with him is a dream come true. I’m lucky to have got this role. I’m sure a lot of actresses are envying me,” says Kareena. The actor, who turns 27 tomorrow, considers this film as the best birthday gift that she could have ever received.
Kareena continues, “I have always done roles that spoke of me as an actor. I would rather be known as a great actress than a star. But luckily I am looked upon as both—an actor and a star.”

At that height too, Kareena continues her exercise regime. She says, “I’m headstrong. Even though a lot of people have advised me against it, I get up at six in the morning and do my training. I need to be toned. From here I go to Venice to shoot for Kambakht Ishq, where I play a supermodel. I need to be in great shape!”

Kareena adds, “I want to do every film that is hitting the screens today. I want to do every role that a scriptwriter writes (laughs). I don’t want to let other actresses work. Mum (Babita) and Karisma (Kapoor, sister) keep telling me, ‘Relax, take a holiday!’ But I want to fight competition tooth and nail. I am a fighter and winner.”

On her birthday tomorrow Kareena will be shooting in Shimla away from beau Saif Ali Khan.  “Yes, Saif will be shooting in Berlin and I’ll be in Shimla. But I’ve a feeling that he will surprise me. He might just land up here,” she giggles.

Kareena is not only about films and Saif Ali Khan. “Karisma and I want to start a school for differently-abled children, a yoga institute and other things. But that would be only after three to four years from now. Now, I’m too caught up with films. Mum says that we should return something to society,” she says.

Though she has been offered a Hollywood project she is still considering it. “Unless I get to do a film like Erin Brokovich, I’m not going to get excited. I don’t look at Hollywood as a step ahead at all,” she ends.
