MUMBAI: “Sky’s the limit for Indo-US ties, but we still have a long way to go. Therefore, I would like to caution both nations not to oversell Indo-US partnership,” said US ambassador Frank G Wisner, vice chairman, American International Group (AIG).

Admitting bilateral relations between the two countries have been a roller coaster in the past, he exuded confidence it will not be a mirror of the future. He also allayed perceptions that the partnership and NSG waiver was to restrain China or serve its Iran interests.

Wisner reminded that before going to the Congress, “there is a need for presidential determination, that is to verify whether the conditions laid down in US legislation Hyde Act of 2006 are met in the IAEA India-specific safeguards and the waiver given to India by the Nuclear Suppliers Group last week.”
