NEW DELHI: Rubbishing reports of its interest in American iconic utility vehicle Hummer, Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday said it was not pursuing the brand, which General Motors has put on the block.

The Indian farm equipment and utility vehicle major also said it was in dialogue with Chrysler to sort out a dispute over the grill design of its SUV Scorpio.

"I'd like to categorically state that we are not pursuing Hummer," M&M Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra said.

He said M&M was pursuing its own products, which are eco-friendly.

"At the auto expo (in Delhi earlier this year), we have showcased our strength as the green warrior and we have no intention to tarnish that image," Mahindra said referring to the fuel guzzling Hummer.

General Motors has decided to sell off the Hummer brand as it plans to shift focus from trucks and SUVs with the sales of the vehicle dropping sharply.

On the reports of its dispute with Chrysler over the grill design of Scorpio, Mahindra said the matter was being resolved.

"We have some issues with Chrysler over the grill design of Scorpio, but we are confident that there is absolutely no infringement of any intellectual property," he said.

"Dialogue is going on to resolve the issue," Mahindra added.
