NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old wrestler was battling for life in a hospital on Tuesday after his business partner shot him in the stomach at their northwest Delhi shop over a dispute, police said.

Sunil Dahiya, a wrestler from Haryana, was admitted to the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital with a bullet in his stomach. The police said his business partner Puran, 34, fired at him from point-blank range in their real estate office in Pitampura late Monday.

“They are in the business of property dealing and also lend money to people on interest. Last night, they were drinking together when a squabble broke out between them over some issue. Puran then pulled out a gun and shot at Dahiya,” said deputy commissioner of police (northwest Delhi) NC Bundela.

“We have sent out teams to arrest Puran and a case has been registered at the Shalimar Bagh police station,” he added.
