AGRA: Akash Gupta, the 14-year-old Agra boy who last year played the guitar non-stop for 52 hours and 48 minutes to get into the Limca Book of Records, is all set to perform again - this time for the Guinness Book.

"He would have qualified last year itself but the minimum age requirement of 14 for the Guinness Book of Records has made it necessary that he perform again before an official from London," his father Krishna Gupta said.

Akash is scheduled to perform from June 22 to 24 at Cultural Hall of St Peter's College where he studies in Class 9.

His father, a small-time trader, needs Rs.400,000 to cover the expenses of the Guinness official and the family is in no position to foot the bill.

"Some help has come from local businessmen. We are hoping for more generosity," Krishna Gupta said.

Akash has been practising hard for the past year and is confident of beating his own record. His family has been supporting him right from the age of six when he first began to play the guitar.
