It’s a pity; you say to yourself that a face as handsome as Milind Soman’s is covered with a beard and flowing locks. But the model and actor is happy with his caveman looks.
“I love my hair this way, and I just refuse to cut it, even if my role requires it. My wife Mylene (French actor) thinks it’s too long and I should cut it. On second thoughts, it has suited all the roles that I have been playing recently,” he says.
“I am playing a Turkish Muslim king in a Scandivanian film called ‘Arn’, which is about a secret group who call themselves the Knights Templar (a secret group, which guided the Holy Grail). It’s one of the biggest Scandivanian films to be made with a budget of around $30 million,” he adds.
In between shuttling to and fro from Paris where his wife Mylene lives, and overseeing the construction of his spa cum resort in Alibaug, Milind is also starring in a film called the ‘The Flag’.
“It’s a film set in the British times. It spotlights a tribal colony in Gujarat. They have no idea that the British are ruling the country, because they have no contact with the outside world.”
“However at the height of the ‘Quit India’ movement, when they are keen to establish their sovereignty, someone comes and puts a British flag in their village. I play the man who knows the truth. The story is about how the villagers get together and drive the British out from there,” he says.
The former model is also busy with his production houses, which are producing a lot of television content. “Our latest show is a 64 episode love story called ‘Hum Tum’ for Zee’s new channel Zee next.” The show is set against the backdrop of Bollywood and has Shraddha Nigam and Sachin Sharma in the lead roles.
