Firing by politician's PSO triggers panic

Panic gripped a posh locality here on Sunday, when a a personal security officer (PSO) of a political leader allegedly fired in the air during a quarrel, official sources said.

JAMMU: Panic gripped a posh locality here on Sunday, when a a personal security officer (PSO) of a political leader allegedly fired in the air during a quarrel, official sources said.
    
Abdul Gani Shah, PSO of state Janata Dal (Secular) chief Gulam Nabi, allegedly opened fire from his AK-rifle during a quarrel at Bhatindi locality between Nabi and property dealer Zamanat Ali.
    
The locality houses residences of former chief minister Farooq Abdullah, brother of chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and several legislators.
    
The PSO fired in the air forcing the other party to flee from the spot, officials said adding that residents panicked taking it as a militant attack.
    
Police rushed to the spot and have started investigations.
    
The Janata Dal (Secular) chief had purchased land at Bhatindi from the property dealer, who had "sold" the same plot to two other persons, officials alleged.
