JAIPUR: Jaipur is in a state of shock after the serial blasts. People are stunned with most saying they could not imagine such a thing could happen in their city.

The city looks like a desert. People are scared and angry at the same time because the blasts took place near temples. Being a Tuesday, there was a sizeable crowd at most places where the blasts occurred.

When the blasts took place, panic gripped the people. Many dumped their vehicles and fled, shopkeepers left their shops open and ran home.

There is a fear that riots could break out because the blasts took place in Hindu-dominated areas. According to sources, three people have been arrested, including one from Mumbai. A curfew has been imposed in the city and there is increased police presence in areas where the blasts took place.

The blast at Sanganeri Gate near the Hanuman temple left the streets drenched in blood and there was a stampede. Many people were injured in the stampede. Luckily, police reached the site within 15 minutes as a force was posted less than 3km away.

The blasts occurred in such quick succession that rumours began swirling in the city. Even in areas where blasts didn’t take place, people downed shutters and ran home. Unofficial sources say over 100 people could have died in the blasts.
