NEW DELHI: Five sex rackets have been cracked in the national capital this year so far and 28 people arrested in this connection.

This was disclosed on this Tuesday, in a written reply in LokSabha by Minister of State  for Home Affairs Radhika V Selvi.  These rackets were operating from Seelampur, Karawal Nagar, New Usmanpur, Prasanth Vihar abd Defence Colony, she
said.

While the investigation into Defence Colony sex racket case has been completed and is pending trial, the probe is on in another cases. According to the statistics revealed in the Lok Sabha, there has been a decrease in the number of sex rackets busted in the national capital from 2005 to 2007.

In 2005, Delhi Police cracked 89 such rackets besides arresting 372 people while the figures for the next year dipped to 76 and 291 respectively.

Thirty-one sex rackets were cracked last year and 145 people were arrested. Court has pronounced its verdict in one of the cases in 2007 while probe in 26 incidents have been completed.
