Attempt to belittle Ambedkar should be condemned: Cong

NEW DELHI: Congress on Monday said that it has the highest regard for B R Ambedkar and any attempts to belittle the architect of the Constitution should be condemned.
    
Party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said this when asked to comment on the purported remarks by party leader Arun Kumar on Ambedkar, which had raised a controversy.
    
The anti-Ambedkar remarks were alleged to have been made by Kumar while participating in a meeting of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation on Saturday.
     
Singhvi said that the concerned leader has already denied his statement and has tendered unconditional apology.
