Is upset with RJD chief’s comments on MNS

MUMBAI: Samajwadi Party’s (SP) general secretary, Amar Singh on Saturday criticised Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief and Union railway minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s recent remarks on performing the chhat puja in front of MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s house.

He told newspersons at the party office in Colaba that he would go ahead with his plea before the Election Commission of India, to derecognise MNS on grounds of the inflammatory speech given by Raj Thackeray earlier this month.

The SP general secretary argued that he had nothing personal against the MNS chief and was opposed to his divisive policies. Singh criticised RJD chief’s remarks and Lok Janta Party chief and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s party cadres for attacking Maharashtrians in Ranchi.

He said Lalu could have pressurised the Congress to direct its own state government to take action rather than waiting for 13 days to react.

Asked to comment upon his scheduled meeting with the Mumbai police team in connection with the FIR filed by him against MNS earlier this month, Singh stated that the police has taken symbolic action. He added that the police in a bid to balance out things arrested his state unit chief Abu Azmi.

When asked to comment on MNS chief’s contention of ‘outsider’ north Indian leaders making provocative statements, he dared Raj Thackeray to show proof of it.
