Quatrro bares its domestic BPO design; bullish on BFSI

MUMBAI: Given the huge potential for BPO services in India, Raman Roy, chairman and managing director, Quatrro BPO Solutions Pvt Ltd, is now drawing up a blueprint for a big foray into the domestic market.

A Nasscom-Everest research study pegs India’s domestic BPO market potential to be between $15 billion and $20 billion of which just $1 billion has been outsourced.

But Roy did not elaborate on investments he is lining up to be ready for the domestic BPO business. Speaking to DNA Money, Roy said: “We are in the initial stages of drawing out a blueprint for our domestic foray. We shall be investing heavily towards this objective.”

At this stage a “lot of investors are showing deep interest in the said strategy”, added Roy. The probable sectors that Roy is upbeat about in India are BFSI, education, government and legal processes.

Roy was earlier associated with setting up and managing ventures such as American Express Bank’s BPO business in India, GE Capital International Services (GECIS), and Spectramind that was acquired by Wipro in July 2002.

Along with the domestic market, “Quatrro will also focus on the Chinese domestic BPO market,” said Roy. “The BFSI segment in China seems very promising and we have already set up our presence in China recently,” Roy said. Quatrro has an employee strength of 2,000 and “more recruitments will soon take place”.

The company provides BPO services in finance and accounting, mortgage and technical support, legal processes, risk management, and logistics. It operates through facilities in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, China, and the US.

Through its group company Annik Technologies, Quatrro provides consumer analytics services while with the acquisition of Scope eKnowledge Services, Quatrro gained the capability to provide information services to scientific, medical segments. Meanwhile, the company said it is exploring acquisitions in Europe, Asia and North America.
