Airtel cuts call charges on lifetime prepaid cards

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel on Wednesday slashed outgoing call rates by about 50 per cent to one rupee per minute for its prepaid users in Delhi.

NEW DELHI: Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel on Wednesday slashed outgoing call rates by about 50 per cent to one rupee per minute for its prepaid users in Delhi and national capital region under the lifetime plan of Rs 495.
    
Currently, the users are charged Rs 1.99 per minute for outgoing calls under the mentioned plan, the company said in a statement. The new rate would be applicable for outgoing calls to mobile and landline networks with effect from January 15.
    
All existing customers of Rs 495 Lifetime prepaid would be migrated to the new tariff without any extra charges.
    
However, the customers would have to recharge with a minimum of Rs 200 at least once in every 180 days to enjoy the lifetime validity and tariff benefits.
    
The tariff of Re one per minute for outgoing local calls is also available with lifetime prepaid card of Rs 999, the company said.
