NEW DELHI: Sharing the nationwide anger over the treatment meted out to Indian team in Australia, Jammu and Kashmir cricket association chief Farooq Abdullah said on Monday the tour should be abandoned if the game was not played in its right spirit.

The National Conference leader criticised the faulty umpiring decisions that contributed to India's downfall in the Sydney test and lashed out at the Australian team saying "they will do anything" to win a match.

"The BCCI President should call a meeting. If this treatment continues and they continue to win matches in this fashion, then our team should not play," the former Chief Minister said here.

He said the BCCI should send a strong signal to the cricketing world that "we are not ready to tolerate such a treatment".

Abdullah said if the BCCI was concerned about losing television revenue and that is stopping it from recalling the cricket team, then "it would be a shame to play with the nation's honour."
