Gold ornaments worth around Rs four lakh were allegedly stolen from a temple along with property of an undisclosed amount from a residential flat in a north west suburb, police said.

MUMBAI: Gold ornaments worth around Rs four lakh were allegedly stolen from a temple along with property of an undisclosed amount from a residential flat of a four-storeyed building in a north west suburb, police said on Tuesday.
Some unidentified person broke into a Durga Temple situated on the ground floor of the Naseema Apartments in suburban Vakola and the first floor flat above it on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, they said.
Priests at the temple discovered that all the gold ornaments had been stolen when they came to open the temple on Tuesday morning.
A senior police officer from Vakola police station said the family which resides in the flat above the temple is out on a vacation to Goa and the exact amount of goods robbed, if any, can be ascertained only on its return.
