MUMBAI: Taking a tough stance against the anti-worker posture of the organisers, Mithun Chakraborty, actor and president of the Cine Workers’ Labour Union, has decided to boycott the November 27 closing day ceremonies of the I&B ministry-organised Goa film festival.

“Being president of the labour union for the last 14 years, I feel dejected and angry over the disrespect shown to the elected representatives of cine workers’ and employees’ federations,” Mithun told DNA.

The actor was to attend the screening of his Bengali film Ek Nadeer Galpo on Tuesday.

On November 21, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees had served a boycott notice on the I&B ministry for not inviting elected office-bearers of cine federations.
