Maharastra CM's son gets engaged

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's politician-son Amit on Monday got engaged to Aditi, a television actress and daughter of Bangalore-based Prataprao Ghorpade.
    
At a ceremony held in a south Mumbai hotel and attended by members of both the families, the two were engaged and are expected to be married sometime next year.
    
The function was attended by most members of the state cabinet and leaders of political parties.
    
Amit, who is a member of Congress, helps his father in his constituency Latur in Marathwada region.
    
He also is the owner of a co-operative sugar factory in the region estimated to be worth Rs 42 crore.
    
Among those who attended the engagement ceremony were Union Ministers Shivraj Patil, Sushilkumar Shinde, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and State Ministers Narayan Rane, Chhagan Bhujbal and Harshvardhan Patil, industrialist Mukesh Ambani, Tina Ambani, filmmaker Subhash Ghai and actor- producer Sanjay Khan.
