US soldier killed, 10 wounded in Baghdad operation

BAGHDAD: An operation in central Baghdad at the weekend killed one US soldier and wounded 14 other people including 10 American troops, the US military said on Tuesday.
 
The remaining wounded in the operation on Sunday were two Iraqi Army troops, an interpreter and one Iraqi civilian, a military statement said.
 
Another US soldier was killed and a second wounded in a separate, non-combat related accident in Al-Qadisiyah province, south of the capital, the military said.
 
The statement gave no details but said the incident was under investigation and that the wounded soldier had been taken to a military hospital for treatment.
 
The latest deaths pushed the overall toll of American losses since the March 2003 invasion to 3,805.
