Kinetic to supply gearbox for Tata small cars

CHENNAI: Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL), the auto-component manufacturing company from the Kinetic Group, has bagged the order for supply of complete gearbox for the Tata Motor's small car. 

Kinetic Group chairman Arun Firodia in a release said, "the small car industry holds big potential as it can bring safe and affordable mobility to many families." Kinetic Engineering received the Letter of Intent from Tata Motors.

Earlier in the year, the Group had announced completion of its business and financial restructuring, aimed at tapping opportunities in the auto component manufacturing sector, estimated to reach USD  33 to 40 billion by year 2015.

''Under this restructuring, group company Kinetic Engineering now focuses exclusively on auto-component manufacturing and has built up
a client roster that includes Tata Motors, Force Motors and several international companies from Canada, the USA and Europe including MV
Agusta, Tomos, Bombardier Recreational Products, Carraro, Visteon, GKN Rockford, Piaggio and Electrolux.''   

Auto-component manufacturing was seen to hold immense opportunity for Indian companies, the release added.
