• Spends time with cancer-afflicted children regularly
• Has opened a charity organisation by the name of Salman Khan Foundation. The prize money (Rs50 lakh) that he and Katrina Kaif won on Kaun Banega Crorepati was donated to the foundation.
• At a painting auction, Salman displayed his paintings for raising money for deprived children.
• Fulfilled the wish of conjoined twins by inviting them --10-year-old Saba and Farah Shakeel -- to his house
• On July 19 2007, Salman Khan watched a special screening of David Dhawan’s film Partner with the underprivileged kids of Mumbai at the Cinemax theatre

Salman, the bad boy

• Salman is alleged to have beaten up his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai under intoxication
• Vivek Oberoi accused Salman Khan of calling him up 41 times and threatening him of dire consequences if he continued dating Rai
• Salman allegedly crashed his Land Cruiser near American Express bakery in Bandra, killing one 
• Was arrested for allegedly having connections with the underworld.
• On August 24, 2007, the sessions court upheld the 5 year jail term for Salman in the poaching case by turning down his appeal against the 2006 judgment.
