Five Kanwarias injured in clash between two groups

MODINAGAR: Five persons were injured on Wednesday in a clash between two groups of Kanwarias following an alleged incident of eve-teasing near Ganga canal here.

The fight took place after a Kanwar allegedly touched a woman Kanwar at a camp organised by social organisations on National Highway-58, police said.

Following this, agitated Kanwarias clashed among themselves, set on fire a Maruti van and damaged two motorcycles which forced police to use cane to disperse them.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Shukla said the matter has been resolved and the yatra was resumed.
