Panchi Bora recalls her first brush with snow and yak ride at Kulu

*I holidayed at - Kulu Manali. My father who is in the army was posted at Alhilal, a small town in Palampur district in Himachal Pradesh. So when we were in a vacation mood, a few friends and family members just set off for Kulu. I visited Hidimba temple and the monasteries at Dharmashala.  The Hidimba temple gave me an eerie feeling.

* I stayed at - a 3-star hotel. We were put up on the top floor. The view from there was just amazing. We could see the frozen rivers and mountains covered with snow. I saw nature in its abundance.

* I ate at - the hotel. I loved the Spring Rolls and Momos there. The local people were very hospitable. They would invite us to their homes and offer us tea.

* I shopped at - the local stores for artifacts. I remember buying varieties of dragons and dragon-shaped articles. I was so fascinated with the woolen jackets that I bought several of them, knowing I wouldn’t use them later.

* The place rocked because - I saw snowfall there for the first time. Kulu is so beautiful that at we would find ourselves stopping on the way and taking pictures. I enjoyed the yak ride too!
