7 die in last 24 hours

Two youths, Chandrashekhar Phirangi, 22, and Ganesh Shetty, 32, both residents of Siddharth Nagar at Mulund (W) drowned in a nearby nullah on Saturday.

In all, four persons, including a minor, drowned in the various nullahs in the city during the past 24 hours. Two youths, Chandrashekhar Phirangi, 22, and Ganesh Shetty, 32, both residents of Siddharth Nagar at Mulund (W) drowned in a nearby nullah on Saturday.

Though the Mulund Fire Brigade personnel traced the body of Shetty, Phirangi is reportedly still missing.  Pandiyan Devendra, 8, a resident of Fish Market, Goregaon (W) drowned after he fell into a nullah when he went to answer nature’s call at public toilet. Ganesh Kadam, 26, drowned in Dahisar River.

The incident took place when he was returning from public toilet was suddenly fell into river, located behind the toilet and was drowned.  A body of 57-year-old man was found floating in a gutter at LBS Road at Bhandup (West) on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Krishna Rane, resident of Ram Nagar, Bhandup (West). The police informed about the incident to deceased’s son= Deepak Rane.

Two persons were electrocuted in two different incidents in the city in the past 24 hours. Raj Sharma, 35, a watchman at Mangalam Society, Anand Nagar, Dahisar (West) was electrocuted while trying to extinguish a fire in the building that broke duo to short-circuit in the power box.
