Caesaren surgery: Report to be ready any time

TIRUCHIRAPALLI: The report of the Revenue Divisional Officer, heading a team investigating the Caesaren surgery allegedly performed by a 15-year-old boy at Manapparai near here recently will be ready 'any time', said district collector Ashish Vachchani on Sunday.

"Appropriate action will be taken after studying the report and consultations with both medical and legal experts and informal interactions with the investigation team," he told reporters here.

However, details of the report would not be disclosed to the media or the public and only the decision taken will be made known, he said.

Meanwhile, a member of the team, speaking on condition of anonymity, told  that the team had taken into possession, the computer system and certain documents from the nursing home run by the boy's father Dr K Murugesan and his wife Dr M Gandhimathy, a Gynaecologist.

The team also met the patient who had undergone the operation, made enquiries and later referred her to the government hospital at nearby Viralimalai. Doctors there conducted a thorough checkup, he said.

The team also met other patients and their relatives at the hospital run by the couple at Manapparai to gather more information, he said
