Pratibha Patil's resignation accepted

NEW DELHI: The resignation of Pratibha Patil as Rajasthan Governor has been accepted by President A P J Abdul Kalam on Friday.

He has asked Haryana Governor A R Kidwai to discharge the functions of the Rajasthan Governor in addition to his own duties, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.

Patil, who has been chosen as the UPA-Left nominee for the Presidential poll, is filing her nomination on June 23rd.
