Prosecutor Dilip Shah has informed Principal Judge AP Bhangale that he has been receiving threats over the telephone since the last hearing in the Haseena Parkar case. He submitted to court, the two police complaints he had filed on June 13 and 15, after the calls on June 12 and 14.

The unidentified caller made four calls between 8.30 and 10.30 pm on June 12. The caller allegedly threatened Shah to stop representing the State in the application, or he ‘would be taught a lesson’.

The caller threatened him with his life saying, “Do not ignore this warning, else you will suffer. Consider this a serious matter.” Shah received yet another call after filing a police complaint, saying that the caller was aware about the complaint.

‘‘Tum ko manaa kiya naa. Jo hum ne bola hai vaisa karo. Jyada hoshiyari mat karo” (Do as we ask. Don’t try to act be smart).

Shah sought time from the court to regain his composure, before appearing in the case. But he assured the court that he would continue to represent the state despite the threats.
