Sourav, Zaheer at the centre of podium faux pas

DHAKA: Sourav Ganguly and Zaheer Khan were on Sunday at the centre of a faux pas that saw them almost miss the individual medal at the prize distribution ceremony after India's Test series win against Bangladesh.

Anchor L Shivaramakrishnan called out all the players to the podium, save Ganguly and Zaheer, who were waiting for their turn to collect the medals.

After the handing over of prizes, and even skipper Rahul Dravid had finished his interview, Indian team's local manager Wasim Khan spotted the mistake and rushed back to Shivaramakrishnan who then called out Ganguly and Zaheer and the duo collected their medals.

"We gave them (the show hosts) the list of all players and support staff. He might have missed Sourav and Zaheer's names, Khan said.
