Bharti Enterprises Chairman and CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal has been elected the President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the year 2007-08.

NEW DELHI: Bharti Enterprises Chairman and CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal was on Thursday elected the President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the year 2007-08.
Mittal succeeds R Seshasayee, Managing Director of Ashok Leyland, and will assume charge of the new office here on Friday.
He was the CII Vice-President during 2006-07 and Co-Chairman of the World Economic Forum in 2007. He is also a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry.
ICICI Bank Managing Director and CEO K V Kamath has been named the new Vice-President of the industry chamber for the year 2007-08.
The theme of CII for 2007-08 is 'Building people, Building India' and its new chief will devote his energies to fulfill this objective.
