Weatherman predicts rain-free second Test

DHAKA: After the laden-eyed skies threw haywire their third one-dayer and the first cricket Test against Bangladesh, India can now look forward to a rain-free second Test, if the weatherman is to be believed.

The weather office has predicted sunny days over this capital city over the next few days, assuring the sports buffs of an uninterrupted final Test at the Sher-Bangla stadium in Mirpur from May 25.

The Indian team returned to Dhaka for their last leg today after a frustrating 10-day trip to the port city of Chittagong where the final ODI was washed away by the rains on May 15 and then more than 15 hours of playing time was lost in the first Test which robbed the visitors of their all-win record against Bangladesh.

Incidentally, not a single day of the series has been without rains. The first and second ODIs at Mirpur were also truncated after sharp showers in the morning rendered the turf unplayable.
