Borewell death: Body of 3-yr-old recovered

JAIPUR: Police on Wednesday recovered the crushed body of the three-year-old child who had fallen into a 200-feet deep and 10-inches wide borewell in Rajasthan's Ranapada village last evening.

The body of Sunil was recovered this morning with the help of a pipe fitting machine, Dausa SP T Ramji said, adding that the boy could not be saved despite a rescue operation of nearly 10 hours.

The kid's body was badly crushed and it appears that while he had fallen into the borewell in the afternoon yesterday, police and the administration were informed about it late in the evening, Ramji said.

The body was handed over to his family, he said.

Police had said yesterday that the chance of rescuing Sunil was grim because of the narrow breadth of the borewell and had also sought the help of PHED experts to save the boy.
