The family of Abhishek Sethi, who died in a accident in Andheri on Tuesday, found some solace in their hour of intense grief.

The parents of the 19-year-old wanted to perform his last rites (utsala) on Friday, the third day after he was cremated.

But they came to know that Gurudwara Singh Sabha at Four Banglows had already allotted the time to another Sikh family for their customary Kirtan. Found helpless, they pleaded with the Gurudwara authorities to allot time for utsala. On learning about the incident, the other Sikh family agreed to postpone their kirtan and offered time to Sethi’s utsala, which will be held on April 27.

The preliminary report gave a clean chit to those involved in the accident. No alcohol content was found in the preliminary medical reports of the arrested accused. Senior inspector, Versova police station, Vijay Sonawane said, “Prima facie, it’s an accident. There seems to be no racing, rash driving or overtaking involved.”
