NEW DELHI: An Indian flight bound for Sharjah on Sunday night experienced technical problem with its nose wheel while taxiing to the runway at the airport here and its pilot decided not to take off.

The pilot of Flight No IC-883, which was bound for Sharjah via Lucknow, noticed a snag in the alignment of the nose wheel while moving towards the runway for take off.

Airline sources said the pilot stopped the aircraft at taxi-way without proceeding further.

No passenger was injured in the incident, airport sources said.

Another plane was positioned and passengers were moved to that aircraft for their onward journey, they said.

The incident came a day after an Air India Boeing aircraft bound for Dubai suffered a technical fault before take-off at the IGI Airport in less than a fortnight after two of its flights landed under emergency conditions.

The pilot of the Boeing 737 aircraft had noticed the snag while taxiing to the runway and decided not to take off.

The Civil Aviation Ministry had taken serious note of these incidents and shot off a letter to the state-owned carrier, directing it to take urgent steps to revamp its engineering network.
