Big B says sorry to media

MUMBAI: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday apologised for a scuffle between media and security guards outside his residence that left three newsmen injured, saying his friend Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh’s black-cat  bodyguards were involved in the incident.

“Main tahe dil se maafi mangta hoon (I express heartfelt apologies),” he said.  He added that Ahishek and Aishwariya’s marriage was an occasion for celebration and not to cause hurt to anybody.

“It was a great gesture on Bachchan’s part to apologise for the misdeeds of his friend Amar Singh’s commandos. But shockingly, Singh chose to leave the city,” said Parag Chhapekar, entertainment head in Mumbai of India TV.

The incident happened when Amitabh was driving Aishwarya and Abhishek back from the Bandra residence of the actress. When the Bachchans reached the gate of the bungalow, security guards stepped in to ensure they were not mobbed by photo-journalists.
