PORT OF SPAIN (TRINIDAD): India's coach Greg Chappell exhorted his team not to cry over 'spilt milk' but rather show the resilience which has been the trademark of the side in recent times to bounce back in the World Cup.

"We have to deal with the loss. We have lost games before and bounced back. There is a resilience in this group which is remarkable and I expect them to do it," said Chappell as India faced must-win situation against Bermuda and Sri Lanka to reach the Super Eight stage following their shocking loss to Bangladesh.

Chappell shot down any suggestion to the effect that it was a wrong decision to bat after winning the toss against Bangladesh.

"I don't blame the wicket for it. It was the right decision, it was a good-looking wicket. It probably played better in the afternoon but there was nothing wrong with the strip. If the circumstances were the same, I would make the same decision."

Chappell said it was inevitable for teams to come up against roadblocks in a campaign as big as the World Cup.

"Most teams have tough days in office in campaigns as big as World Cup. It probably has come to us earlier than we would have liked. But we need to deal with it and recover as it's a must-win situation."

Chappell admitted that bad start was an issue with the team but rather than worrying about it or thinking too far ahead of themselves, they should go about it in a relaxed manner.

The Indian coach reflected on the disadvantages his team had over Bangladesh in terms of little knowledge about their players.

"We had not seen much of them while they seemed to know a great deal about us. But I would not put that down as a problem. It was not as if the guys didn't try hard. I think the boys tried too hard and thus could not play to the best of their ability."

Chappell was all praise for Bangladesh, applauding them for their all-round show as well as the imaginative field placements that were set for the Indians.

"It's a young side but they bowled and fielded with enthusiasm. When they batted, they showed courage and flair. They were too good for us on the day. They set good fields and assessed the situation well. The side was captained very well. Good score from us would have put pressure on them. We did not do that. It's amazing how pressure bring about a clutch of wickets."

Chappell had immense praise for Tamim Iqbal, the young teenager of Bangladesh team, who hit a half century in blistering style to lay the foundation of Bangladesh run chase.

"He was able to shock our bowlers. He is a young left-hander who played some fabulous shots."
