Protestors target Pandher's Nithari house

NOIDA: The infamous Nithari village was on the boil again on Friday with the relatives of the victims attacking the house of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, one of the two accused in the serial killings case.

Scores of people descended outside the D-5 residence of Pandher on Friday morning to protest what they called as attempts by the CBI to save him by framing his domestic help Surinder Koli, the second accused in the case.

The protestors broke the security barricades, pelted stones at the house and set on fire the effigies of Pandher and Surinder as a handful of Uttar Pradesh policemen looked on.

The police personnel found it difficult to control the angry crowd, most of them women, as there was only one lady constable with them and the drama continued for over an hour before senior police officials intervened.

The protestors, who were demanding an audience with the CBI Director, dispersed after Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida) Rajiv Sabharwal reached the spot and promised to look into their grievances.

Pandher and Koli were arrested after police recovered skulls and human remains from a drain behind the D-5, Sector 31 house unearthing the serial killings of children and women.

Both of them are presently in judicial custody.
