Actor Nagma receives threat calls

MUMBAI: Nagma, who’s more known for her personal life (her relationships with the much- married cricketer  Sourav Ganguly and actor Ravi Kissen had created quite a bit of controversy) than her professional life, now finds herself in another soup.

The actor has been getting obscene and threatening messages from an unknown number, and fearing for her life she has asked for police protection. “Earlier, there were threatening calls from this number, but since I stopped taking calls from that number the person started sending about 15-20 messages everyday.

I thought it’s best to take action right now rather than delay it. It has really disturbed me a lot, so I’ve asked for police protection.”

She promises, however, not to let her stalker get off lightly. “A lot of women take these kinds of things lying down, but I will not. I want the man punished as nobody has the right to trouble anybody like this.”

However, she is upset that she hasn’t been provided with protection yet in spite of lodging a complaint on Wednesday night. “I hope they take my complaint seriously. I am scared for my life as in this age of serial killers and increasing crimes against women you do not really know if you are safe.”

Ask her if she suspects anyone and she says, “I really don’t know. It could be anyone. The number is unknown to me,” adding as a parting shot, “I am glad I was brave enough to lodge a complaint against this person and I hope every woman stands up for justice. It’s time we took things in our hands.”
