MUMBAI: Security forces searched a residence in the Department of Atomic Energy residential colony here after reports of RDX being found in the premises, after a visit of two men carrying an airbag to a house.

Security forces searched the residence at Anushakti Nagar colony in Trombay, where DAE staff reside, as part of routine measures when the two unidentified men visited the house.

"As part of a routine check-up, we found two unknown men entering the house of a colony resident with two big airbags," Chief Security Officer NC Gop said.

"We found the two men were relatives of a staffer and had come from Kolkata and we did not found anything incriminating," Gop said.

Asked about reports of RDX being found in the colony, he said these were 'absolutely baseless and concocted'.

"We have not carried out any searches in the BARC quarters and did we recover any RDX or any explosive materials in the alleged searches as quoted in a section of the media," Anti-Terrorist Squad chief K P Raghuvanshi said.

BARC director S Banerjee said nothing incriminating was found from the two men who visited a house in the colony.

"Although the residential colony is not a part of BARC, we have a high-level security system there and take all precautions, at times causing inconvenience to our staff. But they cooperate very well as it is in the interest of the country," Banerjee said.
