NEW DELHI: A Delhi Court on Friday reserved its order on an application moved by the prosecution seeking fresh blood samples of the main accused Sanjeev Nanda in the BMW case.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar posted the matter for order to February 17 after hearing arguments of both the sides.

The prosecution had moved the application on January 29, submitting that blood was found on the clothes of accused and the steering wheel of the BMW car.

The blood was sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis, but it could not be done as the blood had putrefied and the accused had refused to give his blood samples, the application said.

The defence counsel opposed the application saying that this was a delaying tactic as they could have sought fresh blood samples much earlier.

According to the prosecution case, on January 10, 1999, Nanda, grandson of a former top ranking Navy official, and his friends were drunk and drove their BMW car through a police check-post at Lodhi Road here killing six people.

Three among the dead were policemen. The car allegedly had other occupants namely Manik Kapoor and Sidhharth Gupta, also accused in the case. The car was allegedly hid at a friends house in Golf Links area here.
