NEW DELHI: The CBI on Wednesday raided the house of a NOIDA police sub-inspector dismissed for trying to hush up the Nithari murders. Documents and cash were seized from the house in Meerut.

According to CBI officers, PSI Simranjeet Kaur was close to Moninder Singh Pandher and was a frequent visitor at his D-5 residence. “While looking at Pandher’s phone records, we found that he had made several calls to Kaur’s cell phone,” a senior CBI officer said. “At that point, we decided to raid some police officers.”

Soon after the skeletal remains were recovered by police, action was taken against six NOIDA officers, including two IPS officers. Kaur, who had spent two years at the Nithari police post, was dismissed for allegedly receiving Rs3 lakh from Pandher to hush up the mysterious disappearance of children from the village. Police began investigating the matter two years ago, but stopped abruptly.

Kaur also refused to register the missing complaint of Payal, a call girl, telling her parents that she had probably eloped. Koli has reportedly admitted killing her.
