MUMBAI: Tension prevailed in Bhandup area in eastern suburbs late last night following a clash between Congress and Shiv Sena Party workers over petty issue, police said on Thursday. 

According to police, Shiv Sena Party workers wanted accused Ramesh Korgaonkar, Subhash Sawant, Vulas Nargaj, Raju Chavan, A Valke, Shailaj Jadhav, Shamla Sawant and 40 others for assaulting Pravin Chavan and other Congress activists on Wednesday on the issue of putting out banners and cut-outs of the party in the area.

A case of rioting and unlawful assembling was registered against the wanted persons by the Bhandup police.
