MUMBAI: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said the ruling United Progressive Alliance was committed to make Mumbai a world-class city and the government has sanctioned 13 projects.

On the Dalit killings in Khairlanji, the Congress president said, "Everyone holds their heads in shame (over the incident) and the culprits will be brought to book."

Before addressing the rally, Gandhi visited Chaityabhoomi, the memorial of Dr BR Ambedkar, and offered tributes.

She paid homage at the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Shivaji Park.
